Feng Shui for May

May is a month the focuses on wealth. The 8 Earth Star lands in the centre and its gentle nature rules the month from the 6th May till the 6th June. This beautiful energy can enhance your wealth, especially for those who work in earth industries such as construction, real estate, interior design and farming, to name a few.

Place a lamp in the centre of your home and leave it on as much as possible to activate excellent wealth and good Feng Shui for May.

The Northwest and West

The Northwest and West are excellent areas for bedrooms and offices this month because they both receive energies for success in studies, your career and with artistic endeavours and writing. There is nothing you need to do the Northwest, but a healthy plant in the West or some light blue or green colours will enhance it.

The two most challenging sectors are the Northeast and Southwest.

The Northeast

The Northeast already has the challenging 5 Yellow for the year. Make sure you keep the area quiet, with no digging, drilling, slamming doors or renovating in 2016. If you must, then put a large bowl of water there for the duration of the disturbance. Now this month a 2 Black moves in, making the area open to sickness energies. Place your baby calabash here this month. As well, put some extra round metal objects there. This image shows you what I’m doing. I have found a supply of small calabashes that have been unavailable until now. If you’d like one let me know. (See the form at the end of this post.) They need a small hole drilled in the top. Ive just got mine so I have yet to do that. But once the hole is there they become active as the negative energies are attracted into the void that is created.

Southwest

The Southwest needs special attention this year because its already the place of the Tai Sui, the animal of the year, which is the Monkey in 2016. Once again this is a sector to avoid disturbing the earth or making loud noise. But the good news it that it also receives the wealth energy for the year. But now it receives the 5 Yellow this month. Fortunately it is mitigated by the Annual 8 Earth star for wealth, but we still need to ring a bell there often to calm it down. The sound of metal is soothing and can negate the financial problems and misfortune associated with the this energy.

East

The East could trigger rebellion, especially from sons against fathers. The Annual Fire energy, associated with the heart, controls the Metal of the month and Metal is associated with the lungs. So if your bedroom is in the East and you already have lung problems or even high blood pressure, Introduce a bridging element with an earthen pot or earthy colours of yellows and brown to reduce the effect on both family relations and health.

Southeast

The 7 Metal arrives to interact with the Annual 1 Water for wisdom in the Southeast. These two energies work well to enhance the wisdom and financial acumen of the Water element and reduce the otherwise aggressive nature of the Metal 7 element. You can make it even better with some black or dark blue colour.

South

The 3 Wood in the South can promote difficulties for teenagers. The area needs balancing to help calm down the conflict between the annual 6 Metal and the visiting 3 Wood which can produce injury to legs and or headaches. Put a group of black or dark blue objects here, preferably with wavy shapes like this cushion.

North

The North is another area where you need to be careful to avoid injury to arms and legs, especially daughters. The visiting 4 Wood comes into conflict with the Annual 7 Metal. Once again the cure is a black object or group of objects with wavy shapes.

Here’s a guide to the compass degrees for each sector. To apply them to your home, stand in the centre of the house with a compass and imagine lines extending out from the compass sectors into the rooms. Using the range of degrees below, identify which rooms fall into which sectors. They will form a pie chart. Some rooms will fall in two sectors. Try to place the cure in the North of the North or South of the South etc, if you can.

North Sector: 337.5 — 22.5 degrees

Northeast Sector: 22.5 — 67.5 degrees

East Sector: 67.5 — 112.5 degrees

Southeast Sector: 112.5 — 157.5 degrees

South Sector: 157.5 — 202.5 degrees

Southwest Sector: 202.5 — 247.5 degrees

West Sector: 247.5-292.5
